Three great guests and three topics that will influence our future. Join us for a unique discussion talk show Opero and Discover Summer Academy! This time, once again, as Žárovky Offline in Opero.
The world is running somewhere. We can only guess what work, school, relationships, cities or nature will look like in fifty years. But the younger generation, with access to global networks and experience abroad, may have its finger on the pulse of change closer than one might expect.
Lecturing usually works by the older and more experienced communicating insights to the young. Žárovky want to turn this around. Three young people come to tell you about where their field is headed and what it can mean for society and the world. Things you may never have heard of, but which could fundamentally change our lives and the lives of our children.
Come light up Žárovky and ask anything that interests you!
June's Guests will be:
He is a PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University (CTU), who is engaged in research activities in the field of robotics and digital materials. Recently, together with his classmate, he designed and built an experimental robot SK8O, which can balance on two legs and is assembled entirely from parts printed on a 3D printer. What is the future of robotics and what role will digital materials play in it? And will we be able to build a similar robot ourselves using 3D printing or materials available on the internet?
Ethical hacker and cryptoanarchist, focused on hacking technology and society. A perpetual traveler and world citizen who follows the so-called flag theory and lives nowhere for more than half a year. As an ethical hacker, he tries to live without regular money and operates largely on cryptocurrencies only. He has extensive experience in IT security and is the founder of IT hacking companies (Nethemba, Hacktrophy) and contemporary art (Satori). He also co-founded a Bratislava and Prague hackerspace (Progressbar & Parallel Polis), is a member of the contemporary Czech anti-government art group Ztohoven and is responsible for a number of activist liberation projects. How to disconnect from the system and gain independence and self-sufficiency from the state? What are the benefits of flag theory and what is the use of hacking legislation?
Proceeds from the event will go towards a scholarship for a socially disadvantaged Discover academy student.
Discover is a non-profit summer academy that has been developing a love of knowledge and social engagement in Czech, Slovak and international high school students for over a decade. Discover donations are used for student scholarships that allow students from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend the academy. The cost for one student to attend Discover is €270. Even the smallest amount helps make Discover and education more accessible to all.
