Come and support the work of humanitarian organizations by helping to map the areas that are most at risk during crises.
Missing Maps mapathons which is going to happen last Tuesday of September in Prague are organized jointly by Médecins Sans Frontières and volunteers from the Czech Missing Maps community.
What will happen at the meeting?
At the mapathon, we will jointly digitize maps of buildings for Médecins Sans Frontières teams in the field based on satellite imagery in OpenStreetMap. We know from experience that when during one evening more people focuses on mapping together, they will be able to do more in a focused atmosphere than if they all worked individually at home. If you already know how to map, your help is very valuable, and mappers around will apreciate your support. If you don't have experience with mapping yet, you will learn basic information about Missing Maps and OpenStreetMap and you will learn everything on the spot.
What you need?
You need your own computer. If you have a mouse, also take it - it will make your work a lot easier. If you don't have an OpenStreetMap account yet, create one here.
