Silvie Lauder is a Czech journalist currently working for the weekly Respekt.
She focuses mainly on political issues, but she also enjoys writing on gender and feminist issues, such as the crisis of the modern man ("New Weaker Gender"), why feminism is so unpopular in the Czech Republic ("New Wave of Feminism"), about women in politics or those trying to combine motherhood and career. She is interested in a wide range of topics from sex to the representation of women in business. However, Silvie also brought a number of foreign reports. He considers the interview with Václav Havel to be the peak of his career. Among other things, she was also awarded the Open Society Fund Journalist Award.
Karel Och is the artistic director of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. This year, for the second time, he sat on the jury of one of the official competition sections of the Cannes Film Festival.
He has been working at the Karlovy Vary festival since 2001. He has held the current position of artistic director since 2010 after Eva Zaoralová. Part of his work is, among other things, that he currently sees up to 500 films a year and spends part of the year attending foreign film festivals, where he selects films for KVIFF. He likes to go especially to the smaller ones, which are important within the region. Karel Och studied law and graduated in film theory and history at Prague's Charles University.
